Superhydrophobic wood sponge with intelligent pH responsiveness for efficient and continuous oil-water separation

Abstract In recent years, the leakage of crude oil and discharge oily wastewater in industrial production have seriously endangered water environment ecological safety. Adsorbent materials with excellent oil-water separation performance play an important role purification. this work, we employed a simple yet effective strategy to prepare highly compressible wood sponges. And prepared sponge as substrate, pH-responsive copolymer was coated on surface by spraying method, superhydrophobic successfully prepared. The experimental results show that has properties can complete transition wettability between superhydrophobicity hydrophilicity according change pH value. good adsorption capacity (12.72 g −1 ), reusability. Continuous be carried out under vacuum pump, efficiency one cycle is above 92%. It great application potential treatment wastewater.
